A word from the Coordinator
Hi Ranger Families – It seems as if Winter has just begun, and we are already planning for spring. Thinking about this year so far, it has been a whirlwind. But even fighting the likes of quarantines, masks, cancellations, and closures, one thing has stood out. God is in charge of it all. He is not sitting on the side of his chair, wondering what is going to happen. He has a plan, and we are part of that plan. And so, in His name, we persevere. We will continue to serve him and mentor young men. Reaching, Teaching, and Keeping boys for Christ.
Ranger Pinecar Practice Night:
I wrote pretty extensively about this year’s Ranger Derby in the last post. If you need it, that can be found here.
Tonight we will be holding our trial run/pit night during the regular meeting. If any parents want to come to help their son or daughter put the finishing touches on their car, you are more than welcome. Please remember to wear a mask and follow all of our COVID safety protocols.
The kids have been working on their cars, but there is no substitute for a parent working one on one with their child. This is an excellent opportunity for you to really tweak your childs car so if you want to see your car run ahead for time – this is your opportunity!

We will be doing most of the registering tonight, but if you’re going to have your child bring their car home tonight, they can do that. Just let their leaders know to send it with them. goes as fast as possible.
The lanes will not be open for practice on race day, so if you want to see your car run ahead of time – this is your opportunity! Klondike Run
Just a reminder: If your son is going to the Klondike Run this year, please send the permission slips and payment by Wednesday, February 10th. You do not have to send the complete packet. You will need most of it. Just tear out the permission page and send it with your boy.
Merit Day Camps
Merit Day Camps are one of the things we do that make us unique. On four Saturdays each spring, we hold four Merit Day Camps for Discovery or Adventure Ranger that want to come and earn some extra merits toward their next advancement. These fun and exciting sessions run from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The Dates of this year the camps are still to be determined. Look for a post soon about Merit Days. The sessions are free of charge, with the boys bringing a lunch and drink. Snacks will be provided. The boys do not have to attend all of the camps but are encouraged to reach the top levels in each group.
Each of these sessions is independent of each other, and it is not required to attend them all. Still, if a boy does attend all three sessions, they will earn a total of 6 merit awards that will not be taught for two more years. Any boy who does make all of these merits will also gain a special leader’s recognition.
