292 – Take Note of Upcoming Events: 

Christmas Party:

Wednesday, December 13th will be our first ever Royal Rangers/Girls Club Christmas party. It will start at 6:30 and end at 8 PM (The normal times for Wednesday night activities).

We will be doing a gift exchange game and all we ask is that you send a wrapped gift that is age and gender appropriate for your child. We would ask that you spend no more than five dollars on this gift.  

We are also asking if anyone could stay and help us set up the church and clean after the party that would be greatly appreciated.

Western Section End of Year Royal Rangers Family Party:

Each year the Western Section Royal Rangers do an end of Year Celebration. This year we are trying to go to Lazer Tron in Amherst. The date is Saturday, December 30th.

I do not have a cost or time yet. If we are not able to reserve, we will have a different event, but it will be that day so save the date. This event is open to all family of Royal Rangers. Please see the Facebook page as I get more information.

Christmas Season Schedule:

We will not have Regular Midweek Activities On December 20 or 27th. We will resume on January 3rd.

Ranger Pinecar Derby:

The Ranger Derby is going to be held on Saturday, January 27th, 2018. Registration starts at 9 AM, judging for the best show car will be at 10 AM, and the racing will begin (if all goes as planned) around 10:30.  We will be building cars every Wednesday starting on January 3rd.

The cost of the event is $10.00 and that includes one Official Ranger Derby Car Kit, a set of car weights, and the race entrance fee. In addition to the Race this year, we are adding two more events to our Race Day. We will be having video game competitions for the  best gamers. Rangers – If you think this sounds like fun, go ahead and invite a friend to come to build a car and race as well. Parents are welcome to come help their son’s build if they want to.

Lastly, we will be having a trial run/pit night Friday the night before the race  (i.e., January, 26th) from 6 – 8 PM. If you want to do any final adjustments or trial runs, the track will be up and running for you to try your car ahead of time. This is a great opportunity for you to really tweak your car, so it goes as fast as possible. The lanes will not be open for practice on race day, so if you want to see your car run ahead of time – this is your opportunity!

Klondike Run:

The Klondike Run is a yearly winter campout available to all boys 3rd grade and higher held at Camp Hickory Hill in Varysburg, NY. It will be on February 9 – 11 and costs 80.00 for the complete trip. What a great value! This includes food, travel to and from our church and lodging. I will need to know if your boy will be going by Wednesday, January 10, 2018. After that, there will be a late fee we must pay.

On Saturday, January 14th, We will be having a Klondike Run Prep day.This will run from about noon (right after church) until about 5 PM. The boys should bring a bagged lunch and drink.

We will be preparing for Klondike run by practicing our skits, painting the sled, and various other things that will need to be done for the campout.

I would really encourage all the boys to come out and have a great weekend worshiping the Lord and growing into men of Christ. There are too many fun and exciting events to list here, and there will be an information packet and flyer sent home and available on the Facebook page in the near future, so keep an eye out for that.
