Royal Ranger Leadership Training Academies

Have you heard about Royal Ranger Leadership Training Academies?

As is the primary purpose of all Bible based Christian ministries, Royal Rangers’ goal is also to fulfill the great commission as Christ commanded in Matthew 28:19 to go and make disciples of all men baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

At Fellowship Wesleyan Royal Rangers,  we believe that the best way to help fulfill this purpose is through the direct mentorship of young men. The foundation for this is laid in the earlier stages of Royal Rangers in weekly meetings and sectional events.

As a boy grows, there comes a need to further disciple that young man into one who can indeed lead other men to Christ whether it is in a church related or secular situation.

As a tool for a young man’s continuing growth in this area, each district offers as continuing education for the boy, a leadership training track that will both enhance the boy’s already emerging talents and gifts while challenging him to develop the hidden and untapped gifts of the Holy Spirit so he can go boldly into the world to proclaim the Good News to all who are in need.

Each year, districts across the U.S. offer Junior Leadership Development Academy (JLDA): A targeted five-year program designed to challenge the young man to tap into the gifts the Holy Spirit has bestowed upon him. At JLDA, each boy will work with a team of other boys his own age, guided by nationally trained Christian mentors, to learn about becoming a Christlike Servant Leader in whatever facet of life he chooses.

Every boy who enters the academy will start with Junior Training Camp (JTC), which will introduce the boy to the JLDA atmosphere. JTC will help the boys discover answers to such questions as:

  • What are my God-given (natural) talents and strengths and how am I developing them?
  • Do I have what it takes to be a Godly man?
  • What is God’s plan for my life?

During the second year of Advanced Junior Training Camp (AJTC). The boys will even further build upon what they learned in JTC and have put into practice during the year and explore answers to these questions:

  • Am I following God’s plan for my life today?
  • How am I developing my godly character?
  • How am I helping (serving) others

During the off time between camps, the young man will participate in a variety of local and events and leadership opportunities engineered to strengthen the foundations he has gotten at the Training camps.

Years four and five become quite exciting for the boys as he begins to discover his own strengths and gifts. The boy now can choose to go on a leadership track based upon his own emerging interests, choosing two more Training Action camps from a list of many. The current offerings include a variety of choices designed to reach a diverse group of young men.

Some of the Action Camps currently offered include Shooting Sports Action Camp (SSAC), Aquatics Action Camp (AAC), Shooting Sports Action Camp (SSAC), Winter Survival Action Camp (WSAC), Missions Action Camp (MAC), Backpacking Action Camp (BAC), and others. Additional Action camps are being developed and offered each year.

Finally, in the fifth year, the boy who is now a young man will complete the Junior Academy (JA), where he will learn about and help operate a complete boys camp. He will teach classes, lead activities, and lead a worship and devotional service.

Once the young man successfully graduates from JDLA and completes his yearly Royal Ranger leadership requirement, he will be eligible to apply to the Royal Ranger Sabre Corps: A group of exceptional men dedicated to being an example of Christlike Servant Leader providing a model for men in all walks of life.

No matter what the future endeavor, if you or your son has an interest in leadership training set in a Bible-based Christian atmosphere, with a time-tested and proven system, JDLA is an excellent choice.

As an alternative to weekly contained theme style Christian Camps, Juinor District Leadership Academy offers the follow-up, continued support, and Christlike atmosphere you have been looking for.
