OP 292 Update May 2023

A Word From Commander JERRY

We are down to just 5 Regular meetings left this year, and then our Awards Ceremony on June 7th. Wow, this year is just flying by.

This week is a normal week starting at 6:30 and ending at 8pm. If it is cool outside, please make sure the boys have jackets/sweatshirts. We are trying to get outside as much as possible during our recreation time.

Please make sure to hand your sold Chicken BBQ tickets in along with the money. Commander Pugh needs to get our final count to TSG. Thank you for all your help on this fundraiser. It is greatly appreciated. On that Friday, May 12th, please, all Discovery, Adventure, and Expedition Rangers who can help us that evening be at the church around 4:15 pm. Make sure they are in comfortable sneakers. No shoes. We do not want them slipping if there is any water on the floor or when running dinners out to people. Also, no rollerblades please. I know there are a lot of boys who can rollerblade as well as they walk, but we want the dinner to be fun and safe. Sneakers only, please.

Upcoming events

The spring trace is from May 19th to the 21st. Please see Commander Poole if your son is planning on going. We need to make sure they are registered.

Ranger Kids:

Please remember the event on May 27th. I am working on getting a flyer to everyone soon so you will have all the information. It is a family event, and from what I have heard about it, you will not want to miss it.

Discovery Rangers:

Thank you for all that showed up on Saturday. We know some were under the weather, and we are hoping you feel better.

Adventure Rangers:
First, thank you for all showing up on Saturday for the merit day. Commander Gary and I had a great time, and we hope you did, also. There is a 25-mile bike ride coming soon. It is on Saturday, June 3rd. I know Commander Gary has been updating everyone on it. Please make sure they have a good bike that is size appropriate and that they have been doing some practicing beforehand. Arriving that day and doing 25 miles will be a lot harder if you have not tried to get in some shape beforehand.

Expedition Rangers:

You know what you are supposed to be doing. No excuses; just do your work and get it done.

Thank you all

Jerry Hardy
