Coordinators Update January 2022 – Here Comes The New Year!

A Word From The Coordinator

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future – Jeremiah 29:11

As I reflect upon 2021, I can’t help but think, “What a Whirlwind.” We came in thinking how can it be any crazier than 2020. Covid was at our forefront for most of that year. And if someone asked 20 people their ideas on that, they would get 20 different answers.

And even though it continued, God has allowed us to thrive. God has truly blessed us as a Royal Ranger group dedicated to discipling men and boys of all ages.

What a year 2021 was.

Our participation has never been greater. We have more Christian men volunteering their time than ever. It seems that each week we have new families checking out what is going on Wednesday nights at Fellowship Wesleyan Church. Our girl’s clubs seem to be exploding. And I can’t help but feel that God is using this ministry to build His kingdom.

And 2022 is upon us. Anyone who has been part of Royal Rangers in the past knows that we do way too much in the Spring to list in one post. So I think I will use this update as more of an overview of late Winter and Early Spring events and link each heading to that event.

new years day mini-golf

As you may already know – It all starts today.

We will gather around 11 at the Paddock Chevrolet Golf Dome in Tonawanda, NY, to play mini-golf. Participation costs 20.00. That includes pizza, wings, drinks, and two games of indoor mini-golf.

Ranger Pinecar Derby

That’s right – The Royal Ranger Pinecar Derby is coming soon, and this year’s Derby promises to be the most exciting race ever. This year, in addition to the Air Hockey, Foosball, and Pinecar races, we have added even more excitement to our Mario Kart Station.

klondike run

The Klondike Run is a yearly winter campout available to all boys in 3rd grade and higher held at Camp Hickory Hill in Varysburg, NY. It will be from February 25th- 27th.

On Sunday, February 20th, We will be having a Klondike Run Prep day. This will run from about noon (right after church) until about 5 PM. The boys should bring a bagged lunch and drink.

We will be preparing for Klondike run by practicing our skits, painting the sled, and various other things that will need to be done for the campout.

I would really encourage all the boys to come out and have a great weekend worshiping the Lord and growing into men of Christ. There are too many fun and exciting events to list here, so mark the date and look for more information about this fun event coming soon.

merit days

Merit camps are an intense and fun way to earn merits and get ahead on the trail to your next advancement. You will spend time doing exciting activities in a positive Christian atmosphere.

Each spring, we take four Saturdays and bring leaders and specialized experts to teach the kids merits. We offer Royal Ranger Bible studies at each camp and age-appropriate skill merits.

If a Ranger attends all four merit camps, they are the equivalent of an extra 20 weeks of Royal Rangers. This enables us to run a 12-month program and still take time off to enjoy the Summer.
