Camporama – The Trip Of A Lifetime

As a Royal Ranger Parent, every four years, you may have had your son come home and say The Camorama is coming! Can I go? Then you hear nothing else.

Let me be the first to tell you. The Camprama is coming!

What is this thing called Camporama?

Camprama is a once-in-a-lifetime experience every man and boy involved with Royal Rangers should experience at least one time. Every four years, thousands of men and boys come together to celebrate Royal Rangers in Camp Eagle Rock, Missouri.

It is a cross-country trip culminating in an international campout with groups from over 100 countries and all 50 states coming together for unique activities, national recording artists, cultural and interactive displays, the worlds largest FCF village, music, art, and even a little bit of old fashioned horse-trading.

Being a newer outpost, Outpost 292 has not participated in Camporama in the past, but some of the boys have asked me if I would take them. I have been to two Camporamas in the past, and I can say they genuinely are transforming.

The trip will include the Log Cabin Blackpowder Historical Center and Museum in Lodi OH, The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium(consistently rated as one of the top zoos in the country), the Gateway Arch and Museum in St.Louis, and of course, the Camporama itself.

We will leave our church at about 7 AM Thursday, July 7th, 2022. From there, we will meet other Royal Ranger Groups and caravan together to Missouri. We plan to return between 7 and 11 PM on Sunday the 16th. A total of ten days of travel and fun.

Due to the rigors of such a trip and the responsibility expected to attend, this trip is Adventure Rangers only. Discovery Rangers may attend but must be at least 9 years old at the time of the trip, and an adult male must be willing to travel with him. He must also go through the national and local church Royal Ranger Chartering process. If you are interested in accompanying your son and becoming a chartered Royal Ranger Leader please see me. This process can take up to six months to complete.

Here is the hard part. It is an expensive trip. Overall, I estimate the cost of the trip as around 900 dollars without extra spending money. This cost is based upon eight people going, including leaders. It includes all travel, food, lodging, and expenses. The only thing extra is spending money.

If you are interested, please contact me for even more details and the paperwork. You will have to register your son at this link and email me the confirmation. At this writing, registration is 345.00 for chartered Royal Rangers. If you are a member of OP 292, you will get the charter pricing. Due to the detail and pre-work involved, please let me know if your son is planning to go by February 1st, 2022.
