He Is Risen!

As Easter Sunday approaches and Spring is upon us, I like to reflect upon Winter’s passing and the upcoming Spring and Summer. I also like to take the personal time to pray thankfully for the blessings and grace given by God in my personal life. But, at times, it also becomes a season of worry for me.

Honestly, I am fearful. I fear that we have so many events that our message is not getting through. I fear that we will over-commit financially and personally. I fear planning our events and we will not be ready or unable to do some of the things we want to do. I fear I not communicating enough. I fear I am overcommunicating.

But in prayer, I am ultimately reminded that He is not worried. And he is in charge. I am reminded that I am called only to believe, follow, trust, and serve.

I am reminded that God has blessed our ministry and the discipleship we are committed to doing with the boys. And that even in our failures, He will lead the way and shoulder the burden. In the end, I am reminded to Quiet myself and know He is God (Psalm 46:10). He is in charge, and he is leading this program.

In John 6, 38-40, He says, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (ESV).

So in this season, as you take a couple of Wednesdays off and spend time with your family, remind yourself of why we celebrate His resurrection and what he came to do. Also, remind yourself that no matter the circumstance – He is in charge, and ultimately His will is done.

Have a Happy and Blessed Easter,

Chris
